Aftermath of hurricane which caused major damage, left tourists stranded

Residents in Mexico’s Baja California continued the cleanup after Hurricane Odile ravaged the resort areas of Los Cabos and destroyed homes, businesses and left thousands of tourists stranded.
Tropical Storm Odile had weakened on Tuesday but was set to dump heavy rains in the area that could bring dangerous flash floods and mudslides.
The Mexican government prepared to begin airlifting tens of thousands of stranded tourists on Tuesday.
About 30,000 tourists were in temporary shelters.
Among the tourists stranded on Monday was Charly Park, who flew in from Los Angeles on Sunday on holiday but instead of checking into his hotel room, he and his wife spent the night at a cramped, hot shelter.
He said he would try to rent a car to return to Los Angeles since airports were closed.
Emergency officials in Baja California reported that 135 people have been treated for minor injuries from flying glass or falling objects, but there were no serious injuries or deaths so far.
